Got 1/4 inch ice,4 inches sleet, then 6 inches of snow this morning. I know not much to some of you. Went to town this morning and they were cleaning a parking lot with a Bobcat A300 I think. The front wheels turned on it. Is it a skidsteer also? It didn't look like it would turn very short that way.

From what I understand an A300 will work either way skid ,or wheels steer. Bobcat came out with a whole new series ,M I believe,,wow,,monster big skidsteers .

Yes the front wheels steer. They do that for lawn care, landscaping companies. It helps the skidsteer not tear up delicate surfaces such as grass.

I think the all wheel steer is an option on the A300 in addition to skid steering. Big is a relative term. Bobcat had the M970 in 1970, which became even bigger in the M974, M975 and M1075(12000+ lbs.). Then they came out with the 980 that weighed over 14,000 lbs. with a 4000 lb. rated load. Keep in mind these were conventional skid steers and not the long wheelbase machines made today. A longer wheelbase lets you lift more in a lighter weight machine because the counter weight is further back. Dave
