Sled with Tach

They use them on Div.IV and V in NATPA but that's the only ones I know of. It's ridiculous because it doesn't work half the time.

ITPA is using them & has some serious problems that will have to be corrected. I don't pull anymore , but I go to their pulls.
 
Well not sure about that one..... If you looked up the #'s the higher percentage of pullers have no problems with it. What's rediculous is the people that continuously have problems over and over and over AGAIN.
 
I have the sensor on our tractor, but haven't pulled anywhere that uses it yet. From what I hear from someone that I trust and believe is that what the NATPA is using in div 4 and 5 does not work right.
 
NATPA results would be a good place or be at the pulls and pay attention. Sometimes people have to learn to drive the tractor so it doesn't go over. Example.. Taking off wide open or staying in throttle when spinning out. If there are 4 in a class and 1 dq's it's still 75% successful, right?
 
I have yet talk to any body that thinks they work correctly. All I hear is they just cause trouble.
 
Why can't they be made to work?? Why don't the pullers have their own tach ? The 10 % was there for a reason. Why isn't the monitor on the front of the sled where the puller & tech guy both can see it if there is a question ?
 
Don't mean to butt in to your conversation OMG but I fail to see how looking at the results is going to tell someone who likes it and who don't, the problem isn't in DQing it's in it, the tach, not working, the man hooking or unhooking not knowing how to reset it, they have lots of folks volunteering that are never shown how to operate the box I've hooked up before and the cord is just dangling on the sled and also there have been times the thing never even made it to the pull. so how's that for some sound reasons. HUH!
