Snake in Cab

Over the past few weeks I have had two snakes drop out of the overhead console. The first was while running some sunflowers and I about jumped out of the cab. After that I started banging on the cab before I got in and looking around good.
Saturday I thought everything was good and as I am pulling out of the barn out drops a black snake. I ran into the barn. No damage thankfully.
How can I keep them out? Window and door are closed. Snakes are fine just not in my lap.

Hi Scott,
I have to confess this hit my funnybone! No offense, but it did,as it reminded me of my Dad in the bathroom at our old Case dealership, and he was "doing his business" and we heard a commotion and he came out and told me that a mouse tried to run up his leg!
Anyway Scott not sure I can help you,but would those fabric softners help? I thought snakes could smell.

they are going after mice , Had a BIG OL'Cow snke between cab and Grain bin on GLEANER F,, some combine models are a real bichto clean out at end harvest ,, I can Clean and oil a Massey300 and put it to bed SWeet in a hours time , and No Varmits will go in it ,,. Gleaner F is a haven for VERMIN Or worse any varmit looking for a home or dinner , A DIFINITE NO-NO Combine for leaving OUT IN THE WEATHER !, Occassionally have to move my F for a hay Customer to get hay, Kicked in theThresher before putting it back and Busted a wood slaton the Fan ,, All i found was fur , Maybe a Possum or ????

If that hapened to me, that snake could have the combine for a while. I only know two kinds of snakes: live ones and dead ones, and I don't want to get too close to even the dead ones.

Cats work well just keep some good mouser cats around snakes and cats don't get along snakes don't like competition. Moth balls in the cab also keep the mice away thus the snakes.

I've always heard that deal about mothballs, so I put an open, yet pretty full box in the old JD 6030 cab and scattered a few around inside...

Came back a couple months later and there was a big rat nest covering the floor - complete with mothball box as padding and mothballs mixed in...

Sounds pretty odd I guess.. but I have heard somewhere recently that human hair annoys snakes.. May be an old wives' tale but I believe it was an old husband who told me.. :) Anyhow.. might get a little trim and make a couple small piles in the cab.
