Snap-on top box

I have an old Snap-on top box, maybe a late 50's or early 1960's. Do any of you guys know how to remove the drawers. someone told me to slide a piece of metal along the drawer slides, but I did not have any luck doing that. Any help would be appreciated.

All the Snap-On boxes I've had , used a thin metal .020" feeler gauge..With the drawer almost all the way out slide the feeler gauge into the outside of the drawer slider..As you pull the drawer outward the feeler gauge will allow the "catch" to go past a dimple and allows the drawer to be pulled out..Same thing on the other side..

Thanks I will use that method, I was trying to push the thin piece of metal in until whatever was inside was released. I was using using 16 guage. How long is the metal piece you used?

Thanks for the advice, I cut two pieces of banding eight inches long and 3/8 of an inch wide, slid them in and they hit a protrusion on the drawer. I pulled them out and put a little bend at the end so they would go over the protrusion, slid them back in and over the protrusion, then I was able to slide out the drawer. To get the slides out I came in from the back of the slide and did the same thing, and pulled out the slides. I want to clean them up and put a little grease on the slides and drawers.

Thanks Chris, I got them out finally, the bottom drawer sags a little, I want to repair that and grease things up a little.
