After a long summer we got are first snow of the season,(south central oregon) Sure makes you think of winterizing the tractors and getting the snow plows out and mounted. I've got my "H" ready let it snow. Everybody ready for winter??

OH MAN,I don"t want to hear that! We"ve been getting some rain and warm weather,stretching the pastures out and saving some scarse hay. It"ll be fine by me if winter doesn"t come until January and leaves by March first.

Hay scarse and expensive around here my pasture was done weeks ago due to freezeing temp. Have enough Hay to get thur this year hope next year is better.

We got two barns stuffed with hay and some outside at the neighbors i don't think we will be hurting even if it snows all winter here.

Hey you watch using that 4 letter word. I've got a lot to do before I'm ready for it and getting the blade mounted on the tractor is by far the easiest.

let it come ,winter is the best time of the year for the washes ,people hate to leave salt on cars very long let it snow every 5 days or so and dump that salt on heavy .

bring on the snow but keep the salt/sand off the roads, i want my 24 year old truck to last another 24 years or so without rusting out. all the people that think they need to do 90 miles an hour is a snow storm to get to the mall so out town dumps alot of sand on the road. if the trip ai'nt urgent stay off the road til the storm clears.

since you brought it up. i got this six foot two stage snow blower that is intended to be used behind a tractor via a pto. problem is i dont have a tractor and ( i know its blasphemy to say on this forum) , but i dont have any other use for one either . so here's my plan. i'm going to mount an engine on the snowblower itself and mount the whole shootin match on the front of a 4x4. i know it can be done as i finally found one manufactured by hanson after a lot of searching. they use a 27 hp kohler but i dont know how they transfer the power from the engine to the auger and fan . any thoughts? thanks. jeff

nope, not ready. We haven't even had a real AUTUMN here in MD, leaves aren't yellowing, they're still green. the weather in the east is terrible and WEIRD, i tell ya, WEIRD

why could'nt you rig a pto drive off the crank shaft ot transfercase on your 4x4 but remember you need a creeper gear if you get into really deep or wet snow .
