Found this nice 1951 MM model BF tractor locally. Four cyl gasser (Hercules 1XB3SL engine), 25 hp at the drawbar. Straight sheet metal, good rubber. Wheel weights. Kinda looks like a modified Farmall hood also, MikeI believe it's an Avery.....but the gas tank looks strange? Anything else odd going on?

X2 on that being a propane tank at one time. Can't speak to the rest of it but I would bet that wa a propane tank.
Before rwa and tracks on combines it was quite common to mount tires backwards.tires backwards
Could be a Freon tank, but that certainly looks like a heavy weld in pipe bung in the end you would see in a thicker wall propane tank, who knows. I know these are “for sale” pictures, but I would like to see a close up of the filler neck to the tank. It looks like a real “bubble gum” affair!Might be a freon tank, seems kinda short.
