I was in my Mercury Cougar pulling in to get gas the other night - same place as usual - and tore my car up in a freak accident.
I ran over the first tank fill cap which was slightly coned up in the cement with the front wheel, but was still turning in, so as the car came down the other side of the 4-5 inch high cone, the oil pan lined up dead-center with the next fill cap. As the car set down slightly from going down the first cone, the second cap in the cement hooked the frame cross member of my car and jammed it into the cast aluminum oil pan breaking it...
Now I've got to decide whether or not it's worth fixing up a 10 year old car. I guess all this is because I was bragging to Dad the other night about what a great a little car it was with over 235,000 miles on it...
