South American 730D's

Is there documentation concerning the 730's made after the 4010's came out and were ship to South America. Also heard production line was shipped to SA and 730's were made there for a number of years.?????

According to what i have read, They made 730's in Argentina until 1970.

Do a search on google. There's a lot of info out there. Some are for sale down there. Problem is...is getting them back here. None had a leaping deere on the hood emblem. All marked with JD. All were electric start. Check out the big book of john deere tractors for some good info on them.

I have owned Several Argentina Built south american 730 Hi Crop Tractors. They were built from 1961-1970, When production stopped in waterloo all of the tooling and machining to make them was sent to their factory in Rosario Argentina. The Early models looked identical to the american built ones except for the front grill emblem and the castings werent in english. All of them were electric start diesels. They were made in row crop, standard, and hi crop versions. Later models were painted all green with metal hood emblems. The very late models had a foot clutch. Some models had power-steering that was hydraulic powered like the new generation tractors. There were over 600 hi crops built. They also built 445 models down there, pretty much the same as a 435 but were offered in orchard, narrow front, vineyard, and row crop utility versions.I could go on but hope this helps

Any one have a picture or description of the 730 foot clutch option that was mentioned in a earlier post. I wonder if it was a variation of the live PTO clutch and pedal.

I've seen a photo of a foot clutch 730. I've always wondered how it worked, though. Anyone know?

Mother Deere built US market two cylinder 730's in Waterloo until at least Feb 1960.
A batch 0f 81 730's were built in Waterloo in June/July 1960 and 1259 in Dec1960/Jan-Feb1961 for export.
There was another batch of 840's built either between Aug-Nov 1960 or March-Summer 1961.
840's were stockpiled partially complete and finished/sold new until late 1962.

I was wondering where anyone could get a parts breakdown for these tractors. I don't understand why Deere would go to the trouble to do extensive reengineering on the 730 to add a foot clutch and different PS system when they had the 10 and 20 series in full production, and those didn't need any engineering to meet the needs of that market.

The foot clutch adaptation was featured in either GM or Two Cylinder 10 years or so ago.
It was a local tinkeration done with common cheap off the shelf parts that happened to fit. Mother Deere had nothing to do with it.
The PS update was less troublesome design currently in production on combines.
