Speaking of "Stick Shift"

The 63 Rambler did that, found out a small screw in steering colum would not stay tight, Just a worm drive hose clamp fixed it.

(quoted from post at 15:11:10 11/10/23) Rambler, 3 on the tree and then automatic overdrive 4th gear. Freewheeled in overdrive.

Paul

When operating as designed, these OD trannys only freewheeled below 27 MPH. This was governor controlled.

(quoted from post at 16:30:50 11/09/23) Here's a video of a Ford with some MUSCLE .... four on the tree ..... and an interesting gimmick for reverse.

That's a three on the tree shifter modified to shift a four speed.

First where reverse normally is, second where first would be and so on. Put that shifter in neutral then pull the lever for reverse.

Kind of a neat setup really, I've never seen it done before.
