stabilizer bars

Is it ok to use stabilizer bars on my back blade when I am plowing snow? I thought I read somewhere where the bars weren't supposed to be used in some situations. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Yes, you can and should use yer stabilizer bars for plowing snow...Pushing and/or pulling.
Keeps your blade from swaying back and forth, and gives you more control as to where you are plowing!!!! JMHO
As you can see in this pic.....I have them on, and never take them off!!

Just make sure to know what is under the snow, and don't hit anything solid, while pushing the snow.
Should not be a problem, if ya PAY ATTENTION!!!

I see you traded a blower for Hermie again. Keep them pictures coming,Gary. They always remind me of why I moved to the Carolinas 30 years ago. Now I just drive G-kids to "see" the snow...and drive away very fast! hahahha

Did you modify regular ladder style chains or did they come like that in the picture. If modified what did you add to the chains?

Those chains come like that. The links are welded.
They are called "DUO LINK Chains.
Go to Tire Chains. com, then look up DUO-Link.
Be pre-warned .......they are not cheap, but the best chains I have ever owned!!!!!

I think the only implement that would not recommend stabilizer bars is the mounted plow. As a matter of fact, there is not enough room on ferguson plow bar to use them. I think the plow is supposed to trail where it wants.

Thanks Bill. That was my thinking also, since the plow is all over the place ,it seams. I need to pick up one more stabilizer bracket and the bars.Nice picyure Gary, what camera are you using?

You ask:....".Nice picyure Gary, what camera are you using?"
My camera is a: OLYMPUS, Camidia Digital, D-580, with 3X zoom. Fairly old but takes good pix.
Also will take quick time movies....But I never have fig. out how to do it right, so I don't use that part. :?
Hard for old dogs to learn new tricks!!!!

I use them on everything except the 2 bottom plow.
The furrow wheel positions the plow where its supposed to be and you don't want the stab bars fighting it.
