Starter drive

Will the starter drive from a 560 diesel interchange with a stsrter drive from a 560 gas? The gas is a 9 tooth and I need a 10 tooth. Thought that if this would work I wouldn't have to buy a complete starter. Thank you

No. I believe it will not work. There is no reason a new style starter drive can't be put on your starter. Relatively inexpensive. JimN

Look in your yellow pages for a starter/alternator rebuild shop in your area. They would be able to stick you a new drive in your starter for relativly little $$. I used to work at a shop and we used to do this sort of thing all the time.
