starter Super Major

Doesn't look anything like mine. There are two connections on the end, top one to the + battery, through solenoid, bottom one to - battery direct.

The frame housing comes past and supports the pinion. besides the super works by a rod which is connected to the starter actuating lever with a spring return and also has a starter relay switch. yours has none of these, I wouldn't use it, could do untold damage. The book says this starter is used on all models.

That starter motor is for a power or skid mounted engine it will bolt to your majors block but will not work, The skid motors used another type flywheel.I have the same starter on shelf came off a new skid motor that we swaped into a major back in the 80s also have matching flywheel and cast alum oil pan. and the super major is still earning some money now and then

jim kay, that's the information I have been trying to get because this starter is out of a Dynahoe backhoe and it has the Super Major motor and I was going to get a starter for a Super Major to replace it with. If you want to sell the starter let me know. Thanks, Tom
