I AM PUTTING A 12 VOLT CONVERSION KIT ON MY T020 FERGUSON. I WAS WONDERING IF YOU HAVE TO HAVE A REDUCER FOR THE STARTER SINCE THE STARTER IS A 6 VOLT

Craig. You can run your 6 volt starter on 12 volts, just don't crank it over for long periods and let it cool down between starts.

There is no simple, inexpensive way or "reducer" to reduce the starter voltage due to the high current drain of starter motors.

I bought mine 15 years ago with the original 6V starter and the electrical system was converted to 12V. Never had a problem with the starter. But then it starts right up and I don"t overheat the starter.
