engine is kicking back on starter. so i tried to static time the farmall 130 today. brought up compression on # 1 and then rotated engine to TDC on pulley. removed distributor cap and rotor button is pointing to # 4 tower and not # 1. so i thought ah ha, this is an easy fix, (lol) so i moved the plug wires (# 1 wire going to # 4) and got backfire. whew. moved wires back to original and loosened distributor, retarded timing and it started some better.
? ? ? why is the rotor button not pointing to # 1 tower of the distributor? could it be that pulley mark and T D C on # 1 of the engine are not in sync with each other?
