I know I have seen an extension cord type heater control somewhere on the net that will turn the power on when it gets down to around 35 degrees or so. I need one as my automatic waterer won't regulate itself temp wise and would freeze up. I have just stuck a U heater, AKA well pit heater, in and let in run last couple years. Can't see doing that, the water is near hot on nice winter days and I really don't want to remember to unplug and plug it back in day to day. Have tried Northern, Gempler, ETC, Who sells it? DOUG

I've seen a device called the Cube that will turn on at ~40F. You plug it into the power receptacle and then plug the device into the Cube. Do a google search and se if you can find it.

When I lived up North (Ohio), Places like Forest City, Home Depot, etc. sold roof-edge/gutter heaters. They were always on but turned off when the temp got above ~40 or there abouts. I don't know if these have enough wattage to heat a tank though, it that's what you're trying to do.

Are you trying to keep a tank from freezing or the water suply line?

Thermo cube is what your looking for. Plugs into outlet. Turns on at 35 and off at 40.

I second the Thermo Cube. Looks like a multiple outlet adapter, but has a built in thermostat. About $10 in farm stores. Not sure about the amperage capability. I use one in the deep well hut to turn on a light bulb in cold wx.
