Someone (my brother-in-law) blew out the fuel line from the
sed. bowl to the carb with high pressure air without
disconnecting it from the carb. Afterwards fuel flowed freely
from the carb onto the the ground. After disassembly I found
that the floats were rather flat and could not be adjusted to stop
the flow.
As a stop gap measure, I drilled out the small hole in each float,
used air to reinflate them and soldered the hole shut. The floats
seem to shut off the fuel, but I am reasonably sure the standard
adjustment (1/4 in, I think) is no longer valid.
Has this ever happened to anyone out there? If so, did you have
to buy new floats?
