Stroking A John Deere 60LP

I am thinking of stroking my 1954 JD 60lp. Has any one done this to a LP tractor befoe, if so any porblems getting enough gas into the motor? Can I alos get some more compression?

I think LP is about 105 octane,so you can raise the compression quite a bit. Your regulator will flow enough gas I'm sure. A 4010 had a Century 250 regulator so did a 670 MM, but a G1000 MM had a 350. The number is right on the cover. You may have a Ensign system I don't like them. I think they let to much gas out when you are cranking, and then it floods. Gives LP a bad name.

LP is a great fuel for longer stroke motors. It burns slower throughout the power stroke making a lot of tourque. It's around 105 octane and does very well with compression. It enters the carb as a vapor that doesn't seperate like gasolene/air mixtures do at low rpms.

110 is slower for the most part...the problem with todays 92 is the ethanol added slows it way down...so in reality they are prolly the same or close. if you don't need 110...i wouldn't waste my money...i thought LP was 117ish octane??
