Suction screen

Hydrostatic transmission is getting noisy when going forward, and pump is getting a bit noisy, like there is a restriction somewhere there are test ports for checking the hydraulic high and low pressure systems, that will be my next step.
Yes , sucking air or your pump is worn out.

It has had a lot of use, in the 28 year I have owned it, I was just looking on line for a new pump, I live on Haida Gwaii in northern B.C., can't just run to a store and pick one up it's I live on a island , and it's a 8 hour ferry trip to the main land and another 8 or 9 hour drive to Prince George, so once I order it, it is 2 weeks or more before it gets to me, the life of living on a remote Island. I was looking at a new Hydrostatic transmission they want 7000 dollars for a new one, plus another 500 for a core charge, and anywhere from 500 to 700 for the pump that operates the front end loader and backhoe, little heavy on the pocket book for a 32 year old tractor, I will have to go back to using my old 48 8n ford for awhile, it just keeps ticking along. Lol thanks with all the help I'll keep you posted while I dig a little deeper into the hydraulic on my 1620.
