Super 55 Carb question

My super 55 has a Marvel-Schebler carb. I was trying to fine tune it after being rebuilt last fall and I'm not sure what the bigger of the two spring loaded adjustment screws is for. The smaller one seem to be the idle air/fuel adjustment. I adjusted it at idle speed and it adjusted like most carbs would.

What is the larger screw for? It doesn't seem to effect the carb unless it's screwed completely down, in which case it killed the engine. I could screw it out all the way and it didn't seem to have any effect. In fact I screwed it out and removed it while the tractor was running and it didn't seem to matter.

Any help is appreciated.

It is the load adjustment screw. Start with about a turn and one half open and put it under a good load and see which way you need to turn it.

When you say put a load on the motor, do you mean running something off the PTO or just idling at a higher RPM.

Thanks

The screw is called the high speed load adjustment screw, so I am guessing running it at high revs will be fine....anything that gets the gas guzzling!
