Super 55 pics

I just got to put the finishing touches on my Dad's '55 Super 55. He's going to use it mainly for brush cutting, so we didn't go super crazy on the details, but it's a fun little tractor anyway. I sure do love how easily it starts and works... it's a joy!

Also, it's actually much closer in size to my W4 than I thought!

Your Super 55 really looks nice. I am in the process of restoring one I purchased. Hope I have enough parts to get it the way I want. Congrats on yours!!

WOW!!! That is one sweet 1955 super 55. I have a 1955 Super 55 diesel. Hopefully, one day it will look that good.

Thanks! I appreciate the comments, although I suppose it's difficult to pick out mistakes in pictures that small

The actual final prep and painting process took me about a week since, as I stated before, I didn't go to the "show tractor" lengths that I have on other tractors in the past. Plus, the tractor was relatively straight to start with, so that saved some time as well.

That said, I spent quite a bit of time and effort on the yellow grills, rounded nose cover, and center strip. In the interest of budget, I repaired them all instead of buying new ones, which required some putty work and sanding. I usually avoid bondo completely, but it saved us about $400 compared to the cost of buying reproduction parts in this case.

Overall, I guess it took about two weeks if you count the tin work repairs with the rest of it. It was quite a bit of work in a small time period, but as usual, I wouldn't trade the memories I made with my dad for anything. I feel pretty blessed to have had the experiences afforded by this hobby.
