Super 55 Vibration - Help Please!

We've got a 1955 Super 55 Gas that we just got. It seems to have a vibration. Sitting in neutral not moving, at idle, there seems to be little or no vibration. At about 1/3 throttle, it vibrates the entire tractor - hood, seat, fenders, everything shakes. As you increase the throttle from there, it gets better, but still vibrates everything a little. The clutch and brakes don't seem to effect the vibration at all and it seems to vibrate the same when driving it. I dont know what can be causing this. My dad thinks it may be the water pump going out - as sometimes you here a quick little squeal from the front of motor and the fan belt belt pulley isn't lined up very good with the crank and generator pulleys - bad enough its tearing up the new belt I just put on. Any ideas on what would cause this vibration or things we can check to see what it is? Thanks for your help.

It sounds like the FAN is ready to go though the FINS and TUBES of the radiator. CENTAUR

Not to be wise but pull the belt to the fan/water pump start motor did it go away? Put clutch down hard did it go away? If not its engine related better start isolating it.

If you have live power (most did) it could be in that, but that is rearward o the clutch basket.

Did you check into removing the fan belt? If that did not solve the issue how about running a cylinder ballance test?

You could check to see if your engine mount bolts are loose. Sometimes this causes other mounting hardware to work their way loose as well. You may also have cylinders that are not balanced very well.

Thanks for the replies. I finally got over to my dad"s house and removed the fan belt. Running the tractor w/o belt had no effect on the vibration. Again, no vibration (or very little) at idle, at 1/3 throttle major vibration and wide open some vibration. The tractor has PTO but is missing the stub shaft (just has the factory cap and bolt covering the whole). All fluids are in working range and I dont know if this makes any difference or not, but I touch the block and feel no vibration, but the fenders, dash, hood, seat, lights, front axle, ect, all vibrate. Suggestions? Thanks again.
