Im trying to sell my fathers old Super 99 GM. The tractor is in good original shape, runs good, has all sheet metal, has pto but no hydraulics, very good rubber all the way around and has a rebuilt starter. Im looking to give her a new home as we've had it in the shed 15 years since my father passed away and i just dont see myself restoring it. What do you think would be a good dollar figure to ask for it? Any help is greatly appreciated!!

You have a very collectible tractor, don't give it away. That tractor is actually a profitable investment. If it were mine I would spent some money, $3k - $6K and have a professional restore it. Restored, it will attract more possible buyers and you will get your money back. Also, no one will be throwing you low-balls because of a ding somewhere. Since you own it and have worked it, it has probably paid for itself and you can't lose.

My guess on the value would be between $8k and $16k. Like the previous post said it depends on several things. Myself, I would like to see it have the original 2 valve GM engine and not the later DD.

Good luck!

I wouldn't touch sell it for around 10-12k the way it sits, it will likely need an engine overhaul and maybe rearend work, your profit will start to disapear once you start fixing it.

I agree with Gordey sell it just the way it is. We paid $8,000 for ours in a similar condition. It wouldn't take much to spend $3,000 on it and you might get that money back, but you won't get anything for the time you put in it. I've seen a number of 99 GM's for sale for $15,000-$20,000 and they don't sell right away, at least not for the asking price.

Drove to St Louis to purchase another S-99 last fall. Tractor was like you describe yours to be. Tractor is probably the most sought after Oliver today. It sold for $16,000 to fellow from Indiana.
It needed a lot of work to get it in shape. There were very few GM's built in the first year of production as compared to the gas or waukesha diesel. If you can spend some money to get in shape it will return the dollars. There are several people looking to purchase the tractor you own.
