Do any of you guys know how much weight I can drop by pulling my belly pump and pto? Running around 5950 lb. with me on it w/ 18.4x38 dropped to 13.6x38 and pulling pump trying to get in the 5500 class? any comment apprieciated!

You must have cast wheels, I though a M with steel wheels would pull in the 5000 lb class. I"ve pulled against a super M in the 4500 lb class with 18.4s, but he had aluminum rims front and rear.

Sounds like you have fluid in tires. I removed pump on my SM with 15.5's with my 150lb butt and weigh in at 5300. But I would deffently remove pump to start with.

It is a narrow front, I dont beleieve there is any fluid in the tires but it is all original with nothing removed. Dropping the tire size will probably help me more than im counting on. Have any of yall pulled with the 13.6x38 on the M's before, if so how did they stick compared to the 15.5 or the 18.4/

i have my hydraulic pump still in but have the belt pulley removed and i run 14.9x38 field and roads and i can usually come in at 5380 with just me and no weights on

On my 41' M I have the swinging drawbar and belt pulley removed. I have added a belly weight bracket made out of 6" flat stock, and wheelie bars. With no rear weights, two 75lb suitcase weights, front wheel weights, 13.6 x 38 tires on original wheels, about 7 gallons of gas, full of fluids, and with my 300+ lb butt on the seat I went across the scales last Sunday at 5480.

I know you have a Super, but I posted mine just for comparison. I still have the belly pump in and that is my next item to remove.

i make the 5000 with press steel fronts ,cast rear 13.6 x38 no pump or pulley. front, middle, rear weight bars 5 gallon gas and a 300lb driver. most of the time i have 40lbs of moveable weight.

I have a 52 Super M on stamped rims that with me on it come in at 5150 lbs.

I'm 210 lbs so it is under 5000 lbs. I striped the belly pump and every thing possible.

I added wheelis bars mid weight bracket as well as front weight bracket and still have it under 5000.

It has been on several scales and the weight is always very close.

Strip every bolt not needed . I made every steel plate alumnium [belt pully]. I also machined alot of weight out of the gas tank/ steering support.

My stamped rims are 19" wide with 16.9-38s on them. My tires are cut so that removes alot of weight. Each tire has 44 lugs and i figure there was about 1 lb per lug removed so there is 88 lbs in it self .

Remove everything not needed.....

I'm in the process of stripping more weight by building more out of alumnium.

You need to have the calcium sucked out of your rear tires. I pull a wide front stageII SM and have cast rear wheels with 14.9-38s. It still has the PTO, belt pulley without pully, wide front, hydraulics minus the pump in front of the distributor, fenders, and stock rear drawbar hoop. I have front and mid weight brackets also and weigh 5460 with 5 gallons of gas and no driver. I cant get down to 5500 without putting on stamped rear wheels or remving the wide front.

there are 2 m's that pull in the 4500 pound class in my club with pressed steel rims and 15.5x38 tires.

my brothers m can make 4500 with pressed steel and he hasn't ground on it or replaced any parts with aluminum still even has lights and light bar i think it depends on the year it seems like different year farmalls range in weight
