Does anyone see any problems with switching from 10.00-16's to 11L- 15 flotations on a JD 2140 w/ a loader?

Sixteens and fifteens will not fit the same wheels.

I think loader won't lift as high with 11L-15 as 10.00-16's if loader is utilized loading/unloading high trailers

The wheels will need to have quite an offset to avoid the tires rubbing on the spindles. I've only got 750x16s on my 2140. I've got some old wide 16 inch wheels off the back of a JD 95 combine I'd like to install but the tires to fit cost a fortune. I believe it was a 9.5x16 and when I priced them I decided to stay with the original 750x16s.

I would dare say the "foot print" of a 10.00x16 would be as big as a 11Lx15, and larger circumference rolls
easier, so what would you gain.

Guess it all depends on what your motivation is to want to do the swap.

We don't know so can only guess.

-Maybe you need new tires and have a set of 15's handy or can get some cheap.


-Going to loose about 4 inches of height.

-A flotation tire versus a rib design will steer poorly in snow, wet and muddy conditions.

-A flotation tire will not chew up your grass as bad if your using it to run a mower.

I have a JD 401 industrial that is similar to yours, originally when I bought it the front tires were worn out implement/flotation style tires.
I put a set of meaty rib style tires on it and I am overall much happier with them.
