TD-8E Motor Mounts

Hello,

I have a TD8E that looks to me like it has lost a motor mount or two. The U-Joint under the floor boards looks like the motor side has dropped about a full inch. Can anyone give me some info of where and what type of motor mounts I would replace with. Or if I"m wrong in suggesting that it is a motor mount problem. Any info would help thanks.

the bell housing has two stub block that stick in it and if the unit has ever been burned the rubber will not be there . The motor mounts don,t usuall wear out unless the unit has been on fire. Should be about 1/2 in of rubber allway around that stud sticking out. you kinda thro me when you talk about u bolt. No u bolts back there

I had to replace a motor mount on my Cat because a very tiny diesel leak eventually ate the rubber away. A Cat mechanic had also said he has seen this before. I would think a TD-8E would use a similar type of rubber. Just a thought. Dave

I don't know if the E uses similar mounts to the G (which has the cummins motor) but you can get them through any Komatsu dealer, I don't know about CIH but I imagine they would carry them.

On the G they are just two pieces of rubber that a bolt goes through, one on top and one underneath the ear on the mount, and they can be changed with the motor in place, from the top. The hole they go into in the frame is tapped, and there is a mount at each front corner of the motor, and one on each side of the torque converter housing.

That is on a G, like I said, I don't know about the H.

Motor mounts will wear out, the rubber breaks down. It's being stretched and compressed and eventually lets go.
