looking at the back of my 1062 TD-6 dozer thier are 2 grease fittings one on each side of the hitch if you will

these grease a bronze bearingthat is a split design it also has shims, I am trying to find the parts in huston Texas the bearing or bushings if you will failed on one side I grease these at the end of every day of use as was taught me years ago can anyone shed any light on where i can get the parts and just exactly what are their functions.

Much Appreciated, Don

You are talking about the two in the rear of the chassis? Those are bushings for the diagonal braces that hold the track frames upright. They move when the track frame raises/lowers as you drive over stuff.

Where to find? That is another story and I don't know.

M DIESEL is right and the bearings part number are 57234d ans the boushings 57238d and should have 2 felts 53646d

Hector , are those the same part # as the older one's ? Think I might have some of the older ,but no felts . Don , Are the hsg's /caps broken too ?

(quoted from post at 11:02:28 11/04/10) ask the guys at RED Power Mag construction equip. forum, they ARE the experts on the old IH stuff.
Red power Mag

True!!

But some of us do hang here from time to time. 8)

Don, don't be afraid to stop by the RP site. Lots of info, but even better is the contacts you make. Parts certainly get to be a lot easier to find, although Hector is a big part of that.

Suprising how many red power guys are here . Even in this post ;) Hector you are right they were suposed to have felts , probably did 50 years ago . Don , are the caps broken or just the studs ?
