rebuilt motor started it up but its putting out a littllr bit of diesal out the exhaust smokes a little bit and everyknow and then has a studder any help would be appreciated thanks mike

HI, which motor do you have 4 or 6 cylinder? The 6 cylinder will not like starting with out its glow plugs on. The other is a gas start system. We need more information.PL

it has the 4cylinder i think d 350 start it with a shot of starting fliud dont have the gas side set up yet thakks

You should't start direct diesel you will crack the head and that should be why he is putting a little bit diesel out not burn.

NEVER, I repeat never start it with either.
Get the gas side working, then warm it up properly.
Those motors depend on the heat to run. They must be heated up to temp BEFORE switching to Diesel.
Starting a cold IH Gas/Diesel motor on Diesel can and WILL crack the head.
I suggest you check the price for rebuild before you try that again.
Those motors must be warmed up and cooled down properly or you will destroy them.

Hey Mike, on an old td15 dozer I ran we installed 1/4 pipe collar with a tee and valves on the intake side above the carb. We would use a squirt can with gas and a propane bottle. Two squirts maybe three it would start then open the propane to it, it would idle very nice on propane.(can't remember the orifice size on propane)Let her heat up then switch.PL
