TE20 fan pulley

I"m putting back together a "48 TE20. I needed to change the water pump, and purchased one from this site. When putting it back together, I soon realized I could not get the pulley back onto the new water pump. The reason seems to be the screw head of the two-part pulley. It makes the ID of the old pulley too small to fit. I"ve since tossed the old pump to compare, but I did look it over and compare when it was delivered and it seemed the same. YT has what appears to be a one-piece pulley for sale that I guess I"ll buy. I"ve tried everything to get the old two-piece pulley and can"t see how it would fit. Anyone see this before? Is the YT pump just a bit different? Did I have a non-standard pump and pulley?

Don't think you have much choice if it doesn't fit but not unusual. sell more parts that way, but then it could be made in Spain or anywhere, don't be surprised. The important thing is to ensure the pulley is the same size.
Incidentally I was told they don't make parts to refurbish water pumps anymore, must buy the whole.I suppose they don't want to hold parts and tie up capital. But no trouble getting a little extra out of us.

The aftermarket pulley actually looks to be of higher quality anyway.

Yes there is a standard water pump if you buy it from an MF dealer but if you buy elsewhere it can be anything as there are a lot of aftermarket types made and they all vary slightly although they do fit, this also causes problems with trying to overhaul an old one as you can rarely get the correct seals, but if the Pump has been in service for some time you may find that the Body is corroded at the point the seals runs and they are no good anyway. It is better to change the Pump now for what they cost. This is also the problem that you have with the Pulley although mostly the original pulleys do fit the new Pumps.
