While the rest of you think this is just a normal day or election day at best; take a moment to think of all you are missing out on by not being in down town New Orleans today.

Today is Mardi Gras day.
It is 80° with a nice wind today.

With that kind of tempature you could see all kinds of things happening in town today.

Giddyup! Was there several years ago. Picture reminds me of the time I sent Wife to town to get plugs and points.....came back with box of tampons and Madonna cones.

OK John, you are making me homesick. I was born in Luling, just across the river from the big easy. Been up here in TN for 7 years now and have really missed the parades. My mom did send us a couple of king cakes though...

Yes I sent a King cake to my son that now lives in Fredrick Maryland also.
I was thinking of leaving after the storm and really came real close to doing it.

But there is really no place like home.
