Worked on the DC some Friday evening and yesterday and got it all back together. The broken chain was just the start of course, what project doesn't get bigger once it's started. I replaced the oil slinger gear since it was flaking apart.
The bearing on the front of the pto shaft was bad so put a new one on it. Then decided to look at the hydraulic pump since it was getting weak. I had a different pump from an earlier model and I was going to just put that pump on, bit found the housing wore.
So that meant another trip to the salvage yard for another pump. Then a trip to town7 for a new temp gage and a line for the oil pressure gage, and everything is all together.
I changed the engine oil as well, so all new oil in it. The engine oil was milky again as it always is in the spring. Every winter I watch it for turning milky, but it never showes up til it gets warm. Was extra milky this year, likely because I used it more this winter. I flushed some diesel down through it that got a lot out.
Everything works as it should now and the loader lifts good again too.
Tractor tucker, that snap ring was a real pain! Looks like you should be able to get it out through the access hole, but I had to split the tractor to do it. What a massive pain for such a small thing. Lol.
