Third design was a winner

Well, if you have been following my build on the 2 post canopy for the 431T, I had to revamp the dual remote levers because there was no room between it and the DOM quadrant. First plan was to just rotate them down, and weld them back with a collar, but where they worked was not easy to reach or use. Plan two was the cables that I posted pics of, but the cables only had a 2" travel and the valve levers needed 4" of travel. Not a big problem, just connect the cables to 2 lever arms to increase the cable throw, but not enough room down by the brake pedals and foot throttle to make it all work. Third try today, back to basics. Move the levers up by the dash. I cut and ground all the excess parts off the bell cranks and welded the levers that I cut off onto the original bell cranks. I built a simple bracket to support the original pivot bolt used back in the rockshaft housing and cut 27" off the linkages that originally connected the control levers to the levers on the valves. It is a very simple setup and as easy to reach as any of the levers that Case engineering came up with. Problem Solved. Now on to a foot throttle that actually works.

That is an amazing idea. It also could help those whose pot metal levers have become brittle and are broken/missing.

I have a question about the valve assemblies: since they are stackable how many could a person order one with? Would a special gas tank be required to accommodate more than 2?

Those AL control levers never get brittle,, breaking them happens from one thing, pushing too hard on them when at full stroke,, they do not give so they break,, I found out right away how to break one,, I was lucky enough to find a NOS one then that was in the 80's,, I welded the one I broke and it went on a different tractor but is still working fine as are the other ones on three or four 100 series I have and use,, as my Dad would have told "Quit Ramming and Jamming" I have always been strong in the arms even as a young boy I found I would twist off a bolt or bend/break something at some point in the year,, I always chuckled when I seen the cartoon Rocky and Bullwinkle of the 60's when Bullwinkle said "Sorry guess I dont know my own strength" lol But I guess that does date my age a bit

Now that looks good! If you had been an engineer at Case back then things might have turned out different.

I see no reason hydraulically, why more valves couldn't be added, but yes a different fuel tank and a far more complicated valve control linkage in a small space would be needed.

Rod, You already have the kit on your tractor now, however some cutting and welding is required. HeHe. The only part that I fabed was the bracket that holds the pivot bolt, and that is a short piece of angle iron and a flat iron, which just bolts to the side of tranny with two 3/8" cap screws. The solution was so simple that I over looked it at first. I couldn't see the trees in the forest, so to speak.

Loren that is what so nice about your idea, it is simple and sometimes those are the hardest solutions for us to figure out, thanks, Rod.
