Wow:
That is dumb.....that should be required for prison inmates, only more explosives, just let them off themselves.

those are what they call stop sticks for trains -you put them on the rail and when the train goes over it they explode and the engineer stops the train --In that video i will bet somebody ate a sledge hammer

i had buddy worked for railroad , he called them "torpedos" put them on track when they were doing maint etc. Kinda like early warning signal

I have some old railroad torpedo's. They are a red waxpaper type of material. A thin strip of lead was on the back so you could wrap it onto the railroad rail. The backside was coated with a glue/sand mix so it wouldn't scoot along the rail but stay in place when the train ran over it. Different from this hammer thing was the explosive stayed in one place on the rail. The train running over it set it off. I have hard they were put in sequence or in a pattern or code. Two, then a space and then a third meant some sort of signal, etc.

My uncles would put them on the concrete floor outside the shop, then climb up on the roof and drop wood splitting wedges onto the charge to set them off. (redneck entertainment)

Each torpedo had what looks to be several table spoons of powder in it.

Fine then, Ill be the one to say it...

*clears throat*

With a few sets of ear plugs, this looks fun as h*ll!! lol

Lanse, I ain't gonna disagree, but I can't figger out what they're doing/celebrating. Seems to be some sort of semi-organized mayhem, but can't figure it out. Wish I had some context (and the first-aid concession)

Kinda reminds me of when I was a kid...Dad's two pound sledge and a whole roll of capgun caps in one whack. It was loud enough to make my ears ring... :)

Did that torpedo trick myself once. Dropped a brick on one from the top of a boxcar. Must have hit it just right, as that brick came straight back up. Fast.

That bunch by their mannerisms, they way they carry themselves, their dress and they activity they are involved in are low brow!
