I bought this 6in Cam Lock vise a year ago.
I got it cheap but when I got it home I still had some buyer's remorse cause it was so fubared and the clamp parts were worn out.
So it sat on the shelf.
This week I looked at again then on a hunch put a grinder to it. Spark test said it was cast steel.
Yay!
So I sand blasted it, got all the divots clean, then borrowed my buddy's wire feed and filled them. Ground it off afterwards.
I ordered new jaw inserts, center rod and locking parts from Heinrich.
They are still making these and OEM parts for them in Racine, WI
The second coat of brush paint was dry this morning so I put it all back together.
I'm tickled to have it now!

Nice work. I have seen many a cam lock vise like that with drill point marks like that but that one has more than most. They are a good vice for a drill press.
