Any chance a guy might tighten the two nuts where the friction disk is, under the dash and fix the throttle position hold?

If you loosen nut and tighten spring it may help. Check and see if you have any disk left, I had to replace mine. I used cork gasket material and cut it out. Dealer should have disk.

I made my own friction discs out of cork gasket material, the original ones was about $4 each at local dealer, and I ordered the star washer for $6 I think. The ears on my throttle lever was pretty worn down so mines not perfect, but its a lot better then before.
I didnt remove the battery box, just the lower dash panel to gain access to the linkage.

Good luck!

I got mine out by removing the battery and proof meter.Got to go to dealer to get the disks and spring washer, washer had to come from wherehouse in Kansas City Mo.I guess its still where it was 20 years ago when i lived up thataway
