I have a 1951 8n that the hand throttle will not stay in place. When i open it up it will bounce back to about the midpoint or so. I use a flat tip to hold it open so i can mow. Any thoughts??

you can take the 2 bolts out & bend rod a little not to much then bolt back on.or put better coil spring in under rod.Chad HTH

Check the balance spring at the bottom of rod going thru dash. Spring is probably broken or missing.

The small steel ball under the top throttle arm could be worn flat. I read of the peens being spread and a same size ball bearing installed. I just replaced the rod as mine had the ball worn and the arm broken and welded back on badly. replaced both lower springs as well.
