I have to tighten the yoke behind the main control spring on my 46 2N. When I took off the rocker and tried to turn the yoke, it seemed rusted tight. Will it work to heat the yoke with my oxy-acetylene torch and then turn it?
Thanks

es. that is typical procedure, but don't apply too much torque, as the parts the keep other end of plunger from turning are none too strong. Some people just cut a big washer in half, shim the spring with the halves & then tack weld the two installed halves together (Zane, I think).

That sounds like a better idea than heating and twisting. I can cut a washer from solid round stock to thickness needed on a lathe etc.

Many Thanks
