tire balancing

I have an ex military vehicle that has rims that cannot be balanced conventionally as the rims are concentric to the bolt circle, not the center hole. Has anyone had any experience with balancing using the small packet of beads, like Gemplers sells? The tire size in question is 265-75-R16. The packets that Gemplers sell are for larger truck tires, and come in 10 or 12 oz sizes. Do you think that would be too much material for the above sized tire?

I use 10 oz in a semi tire so would think it would be too much. Split one bag for the two tires would be pretty close.

Local tire shop will install balancing powder for a fee... you just need to be sure to have an air dryer on the line any time you add air then.

I've seen stick on weights used in aluminum rim applications. Not sure how they would work on a big truck sized tire, but they are in use commonly on passenger cars with fancy wheels.

I put in 3 golf balls in the tubeless 24.5 front tires of my semi tractor. Have not tried it on a 16 inch tire. You could, if it does not work they would be easy to remove.

Thanks for the replies, guys. I Know Gemplers sells the 10 and 12oz bags. Was wondering if anyone knows of a co. that sells 4 or 5 oz packets, as the chart in the last post shows.
