Tire chains

I bought tire chains for my 9n, they hit against fenders(Brackets) has anyone moved in the fenders for this problem, and how did you do it. Thanks Sean

Why not move the wheels out to the next step? It's like 2" per side. But, if you do make brackets to move fenders in, just remember that the leveling box crank is already pretty close to the fender.

Maybe cut a chunk of 3"x3" tube to raise the fender straight up if you don't want to move the tires out? Would at least get the curved part of the fender away from the tire and chains.

Yes. Guess I should have been more specific and said box or square. Won't gain a lot of clearance, but probably enough to let the chains fit without beating the fenders.

Sean, I have my tires out and a real heavy duty set of skidder chains and have no problem. If you don't have any special reason to keep your tires "in" then move them "out" and you will feel more comfortable and safe with them out, that is if you use it in off road situations. Be safe and have fun. Ron

I use rubber bungy straps on the inside and outside to keep the chains real tight. Sometimes just a little slop will cause the chains to rub. If the chains are hitting close to the top inside of the fenders, perhaps a inch of large washers where the fenders mount might give you enought clearence to get by.

Should look decent too.. Give it that 'lifted' look. then all he needs is those neon running lamps to cruise around with!

Furry steering wheel and all!

Thanks all for your ideas, I should have mentioned that I really will have to buy rims soon and they are very tender(rusty) so i didn't want to beat on them much to move tires out assuming its unbolting the larger diameter(outside) of rim and moving in to the inside? Again Thanks Sean
