What do you all use for tire fluid? I am thinking of loading mine on my 2N and I read somewhere that windshield washer fluid works well and don't eat up the rims like chloride does if there happens to be a leak.

Most folks use either windshield washer fluid or anti-freeze. My tractor had fluid in it when I got it so who knows what's in it. If I have to add/replace it I'll probably use antifreeze. Biggest difference is the cost...both do the same thing for you.

I agree with the others... ww fluid, reg or RV -eco-safe a-freeze, or if ya got deep pockets.. beet juice. ( rimguard is the brand name.).. though you might as well fill the tires with powdered gold .. it's a bit costly! )

I have switched to wiper fluid. I have one tractor with wiper fluid in one tire and CACL in the other and can't tell you which is which any more. I don't and will not use anti freeze because it can kill animals and I have a good number of them. Plus if you watch you can get WWF on sale for just over a buck a gal. And some places if you buy it by the case which you would need to do will give you a price cut.

Tom.........usually you put 23-gals in each rear tire. Worth about 300lbs of additional tractive effort iff'n mixed with cheap calcium chloride salt. Iff'n you just really gotta have additional weight, there is now available NON-toxic, NON-corrosive "beet juice" based tire water additive.

Pre-mixed WWF at wally world is frequently on sale very cheap. It doesn't add weight like CaCl, it acts as anti-freeze to water. Surprizingly enuff, slushy water works just fine. But iff'n water is frozen solid, time to go back in the house.

Others use RV toilet anti-freeze. It is NON-TOXIC and iff'n unused first, non-ickky. (grin)

Some use free USED automotive anti-freeze which can be toxic to dogs, a real bummer .......Dell

That's o.k. got some stray dogs that need some "attention". I live in the city limits of a small one horse town that does have a leash law but it is not enforced. I have to do my own "enforcing".. Good idea, had not thought about the used anti freeze..It should be just fine. I have a friend who has a mechanic shop so I bet I can get all I need. I don't have one of the attachments for adding the fluid so I will get a tiny funnel and give my wife a thimble to dip with. She should have em filled up in a few days...

Will you please post back what SHE has to say about that, or maybe even a photo?

LOL!!

The adaptors can be picked up for less then $5 plus if you need ways to set up filling tires send me an e-mail and I'll send you a page from an owners manual that shows you 2 or 3 ways to do it. One you can even set up and go get drunk and not worry about it.

The other night the Ole Lady's daughter got this one with a Ford Contour.

Compound fractures of all of its legs, she got the car home, and I sent someone back after the poor thing.

They brought it home still alive.

After 2 ,357 mags in the head she was out of her misery.

Now the freezer is back full.
