Tire Mounting HELP

Run a rachet strap all the way around the tire and tighten it as tight as you can. Don't try, ether, an air blaster, etc while the strap is on.

I have a home made air blaster. The dopers leave camper bottles laying in the ditches. Well I saved a couple, cut a hole in the bottom with a torch and welded a 1 1/2 in collar, a short nipple full flow valve, then looked at a factory nozzle and copied it. Ps blow air in it for 15 minutes and while you are cutting it. Have had to use two of them on a big tire. Also buy a bucket of slickem to help seal it. be sure the rim is held up from the ground. hope this helps. Vic

i tried the ratchet strap thing didnt work for me of course i was mounting 14.9's on 16 inch wide rims only thing that worked for me was either but be carefull using it

Thanks for the ideas. To tight for either tried the strap looks like it might be getting closer think I got cheap on the lube.

there is a "soap" that comes in a bucket made for doing this. It looks like wax but melts when you start disturbing it. You can buy from any major ag tire dealer. Block the rim up where the bead is hanging pack the soap between the front bead and rim. It will hold the air back and the tire will rise and seal. This soap is expensive but safe. I usually go with the ratchets and a 1/2" hose on a big adapter. But when all attempts fail the soap works everytime.

We forgot the most obvious and the easiest. If all else fails. take them back off the rims and but the tubes back in and inflate them to stretch the beads up. My neighbor did this to put big tires on his 4X4. He would leave them for a week, inside where it is warm. Have fun Vic

It helps if you think ahead. I've got sticks cut that I stick between the beads inside the tire to spread them out. I put them in couple of days to a week ahead of when I want to mount. Best way I know of when mounting on rims wider than the tires.
