tires on my 50

i need to buy new tires for my 50. i just got done restoring it, motor is new. i want to try pulling it in stock class ,it made 38hp on dyno. its got 12.4x38 the orginal tires should i put 12.4 back on it or go up to 13.6s, i would have to buy new rims for 13.6s. wondering if it would be worth spending a little more to do 13.6s or save a little and use my wheels and get 12.4s?

If you are not going to pull it alot i think the 12.4's would work. It would save you some money from having to be buying new rims and more expensive tires. Just my 2 cents

sure as heck would NOT need to buy new rims. not sure where you got that from? its only 1". I had 18.4-38's on my 12.4 wheels. looked goofy but worked fine. lost lots of power due to the height tho. The 13's are cheaper to buy per tire & might be a bit taller, these tractors stock are too weak in 2nd & spin out in 1st so if you ran the taller tires in 1st it might be perfect.

i have a whole sale account so iam suppose to get stuff cheaper but firestone 12.4 4ply are $362 each 13.6 are $459 american farmer 13.6s are $366 my 50 has 9in rims now if go with 13.6s i would buy 12in rims wich are $190 each...just dont want to make wrong choice on tiers

I don't think you have enough engine for the larger tires...I've pulled them all and 12.4 should hold as good a any....

iam not sure...motor is new .90 over high comp pistons, head decked some and all new...it picked up 6hp over stock motor 32 at 540 pn pto 38hp if we lug it right down

The new 12.4s will be pretty skinny compared to the ones you have now,My 13.6s look right on mine

13.6 tires are for a 60 and would look ridiculous on a B or 50.

well my tractor has 11x 38s now which are 12.4 now sorry i forgot to say that....u have a nice looking b, tires look good

I have a 50 and with the creeper gear 13/6 tires would work fine

Dyno's are calculated to read HP at 540 same RPM Nebraska Tests ran them at. If you read them at a different RPM you need to use a conversion wheel to get the figures.

i have a single induction 50 with 13.6x38 firestones on it an have never run out of power it always spins out and just about gets pulled every weekend it will hold its own in the 5000lb stock class unless the really hot stuff runs where it don't belong so i would go with the 13s they look better to

at 540 it made 32hp...it picked up 6 hp over stock...i had a guy run it on dyno and tune it....he does alot of them so he knows what hes doing...i myself have never run a dyno wouldnt know where to start.

14" rims and go with 15.5x38..??

My Late Styled "B" has 12.4x38 and they are definitely too small for the tractor..13.6x38 would be my choice if I worried about "Looks"..!!

I use worn-down 15.5x38 on my 520 for flotation when the ground is soft, mowing..
My 520 came with 38" wheels..

I have a B that used to be a puller. It had 13.6's on it. I put 12.4's on it and wish I'd kept the 13.6's. It looked just fine and you don't need new rims to put 13.6's on it. I say go with the bigger tire.
