Going to put some new tires on the ole 50.It's got 13.6 x 28 on the rear.Who makes the best tire for the money? What do you guys run?

I just bought a set for the rear of my to-35 Ferguson.
BKT brand made in China 8 ply. Std tractor tread

Wish I could have afforded the U.S. made tires, but they were $100 higher each and only 6 ply and had that funkey 23 degree tread which I do not like. I had one set with that 23 degree tread design, the tires did not last that long.

I got the new tires installed, New tubes and fluid transfered for $900.

Sold the old tires for $100.

Best deal I found in backwoods, nowhere, KY.

I just got a new set from stopandgotires.com in central,IL.Firestone 9.5-24 $260.00 each,give them a call (618)367-4472.

I put some el cheapo "Akuret" tires on my 35, and only scrape snow and mow with it. Tires are wearing VERY fast, must be a weak rubber compound. I have put BKT tires on for other people on their hay baling tractors and they also do not like the heavy use. If i did it again I would get some radials.

cked with old supplier, 13.6X28 Sampson 6 ply should be about $350.00 each, put on the rim, 8 ply ATR's should be around $352.52, Firestone SAT 2, 6 ply, the best tire out there, should be around $455.01 each put on. If you need tubes or fluid pumped that would be extra. If you take the rims and old tires off the tractor and take them to a tire shop to be switched, that would cost extra too, they are easier to switch with the rims on the tractor. This is a south central Iowa price.

I'm going to put a set of Firestone-supertrac23 on it.Got what I think is decent price.Thats a real eye opener on the prices now days.

Out of frustration, I learned how to do this myself. Half a dozen Harbor freight tire spoons and a couple big old irons and spoons I found. And lots of beer. A heavy weight friend is nice to have around too...
Worse than the cost, the idea that if there is calcium cloride in the old ones, the shop has an overwhelming need to put the cc back in the new tubes... and I like to paint the inside of the rims and let them dry for a couple days, tire shops don't do that sorta thing.... and I have great luck on craigslist with nice- usually used tires for a fraction of new.

I've done few hind tires myself, they aren't too bad except for the calcium. I do all my implement tires myself. But if you count up the 14 wagons I have, 12 tractors, 3 balers, 3 haybines, 2 vehicles, not counting lawn mowers wood trailers, hay elevators, even wheel barrows..... I guess you can do the math.
