Going to look at a TN 75 DA tractor with a loader and was just wanting to know if they aer a good tractor and how well they hold up. The tractor is sitting on the local Deere dealer lot and has been there all spring and summer. They have lowered the price some and it only has 1500 hrs on a 2005 model I believe. I would be using it for putting bales out and with a 7 10 disc mower to cut hay.The thing I m concerned about is the fact that it s only a 3 cyl with a turbo on it and I don t know how well those engines are built. The tractor I will be replacing is a 4430 so I would be downsizing quite a bit but the 4430 is really more tractor than what I need.I just don t want to bring home a tractor that is known to have problems and thats why it is still on the lot.

In most likely has an Iveco engine and it pretty bullet proof. Th engine is rated at ~75 HP and I believe the pto HP is 62 hp. A NH for sale at the JD dealer most likely means you have some room to bargain on the price.
The TN series has some electronic controls and maybe someone like RickB will comment on reliability of these. I don"t believe there are any issues with the powertrain however.

Rick can tell you all the ailments as he worked on them... From the ones I've heard about in this area, electrical gremlins were probably more common than they ought to be. Mechanically I think they were decent. Probably not what they replaced, but decent.
I'd have no worries about the 3 cylinder turbo engine. I don't know why people get all wound up over that. Your 4430 certainly has a turbo. For the most part any engine that was turbo'd from the factory will be built to deal with the extra stresses related to the higher output. Personally I'd rather a 3T over a derated 4 in that class of tractor.

Except for the electrical gremlins that hopefully have been resolved since that tractor was new, I'd not be concerned about engines or power trains.
