TO 20 3rd Gear

When bushing hogging, my TO 20 will pop out of 3rd gear randomly. No problem with 1st or 2nd. I only run her in 3rd when the grass is low with minimum load on the PTO, but it still pops out of gear. Any adjustments or suggestions? Thanks!

Worn gears allowing it slip out of gear. Time to look for fleabay gears.

Remove the top cover and check the gears for wear, but it could also be wear on the selectors and the gears are not being pushed fully into mesh. It is also possible that there is wear in the bearings on the shafts which are floating back and forth, there should be no end float. It can also be the plunger or selector rail that is worn or the spring is weak which is allowing it to jump out. You can adjust the spring pressure with some thin washers to act as shims to increase the pressure. If you need more information, email me [email protected]

lots of reasons worn shifter,shift rail, gears, spring on dent ball broke or ball worn,pull the cover and look but make sure you unhook the wish bone on the pump
