TO 30 Paint Question

I have 52" Ferguson TO 30 and wanted to repaint it somewhat close to the original Grey color. I have found a bunch of codes on this site but when I ask any paint shops to mix up a color they look at these codes and don"t know what they are. I have the codes from FENA and this site. I also tried the NAPA 99L-3740 code at a store that does Martin Senour Paints. I work in a shop that can custom color match a color for Matthews automotive paints but I need a sample chip of this Ferguson Grey color. Can anyone help me obtain a sample chip?

Year does not matter much. Though there may have been changes in the shade of grey through the years it is not documented.

That said the paint codes are for automotive/industrial paints not the household paint store. i.e. if you use the sherwin-williams numbers and go to the paint store you will get a salmon color.

Hope that helps a little.

Now the color grey I used is MACHINERY GREY that ACE HARDWARE sells in a spray can. I like the color, and it blends really nice with blue accent around the emblem lettering. I also highlighted the raised gear numbering with the blue as well. I think it turned out good. Some day I ll figure out how to post a picture. Good luck.

You are using outdated NAPA information. Go to "Paint colors" on this site, and find Martin Senour/NAPA on the second page. give your Martin-Senour Automotive paint dealer the formula numbers shown and you should get the paint you need.

Painting my "51 now with MF-GRAY from Tractor Supply. They have it in spray cans or by the quarts. Not sure if it"s the original color of the TO30"s or not. Have fun
