TO20 Ferguson Emblems

In pictures of some Ferguson tractors I've seen emblems at the rear end of either side of the hood which say "Ferguson". My 1951 TO20 doesn't have those and there are no holes where they would have been mounted. I have the emblem on the front of the hood. Does anyone know which models should have those and which didn't? It's not important, but I'm curious.

I have seen some old original 20's that had a decal, not badge, with the cursive ferguson script logo....exactly like the badges, on the side of the hood near the dash.
Don't have specifics on serial #'s or years, but the norm is on the TO20's the badge just said "Ferguson" in cursive writing.
On the TO30's the badges were similar only they said "Ferguson 30" on them.
The early TO35 had yet similar badges with"Ferguson 35" on them.
As a side note, most of the TO 20 and TO 30 badges I have seen were chome, with a blue back ground. I picked up an emblem a long time ago at a tractor show that is for a TO30 that says "Ferguson 30" on it, but has a grey background with blue raised letters and border. It is brand new (original) still in a plastic sleeve. Has TO-16660-B stamped on back.
Something cool to look at.

I have a 1951 TO-20 serial number 58670. It does not have the emblems or the mounting holes. Someone once told me that I must have an older model hood. My dad bought this tractor around 1958 and the whole tractor was repainted. I think that it was repainted at a dealers place for resale and that this is the original hood. What is the serial number on your tractor?

For what it's worth I have TO7575 and assuming it has the original hood it has the crome and blue plates on the sides. The left one (which I need) is missing but the right one only has "Ferguson". Best regards, Jack

I have a late 1949 TO20 and it has the holes for the side emblems, but had the decals on the sides when I got it. I believe it to be the original hood.

I have a 49 TO 20 s/n 2360 that has no side emblems or no evidence that it ever had any. I wonder how many hoods have been swapped around over the years?

I noticed that the TO-30 hood side emblems are no longer offered in the parts list on this site. That's too bad. I did not order a set when I had the chance. My 52 TO 30 restoration project is not quite to that detailed finish point yet.

Mine is SN 56,572. I or a freind has owned it for 23 years. That's how long it's needed to be restored. I'd really be suprised if it was not the original hood. It sounds like there is not a great deal of consistency in which had side emblems. Since mine does't have holes for them I'm not going to add them. That'll save a little $$ on the restoration, too. Although, they would probably look good.

Thanks for all of the replies. Now, I need to do the front emblem. Mine isn't chrome. I assume it is a blue background with either grey or white letters.

The enitial TO-20's did not have side plates at all. Later they did and they read just Ferguson. I am not sure of the SN where they switched. Even later ones may have read Ferguson -20.
