Todays Frustration

We all have them days right? Well today I am trying to drill steel with the hand held, multiple holes, a mounting bracket/system on the baler for a hyd. pump. Drills are dull, no grinder. Use the wheel on the 41/2 inch angle. So so. Come home. 70 + mile round trip. Need tools at multiple places and peanut butter budget. Hey! any one know of a good handy man that dont eat much and lives on grass and peanut butter?? Free water. lol

Based on the "pay" it sounds like your looking for a horse instead of a handyman. 'Course nowdays it probably wouldn't be hard to find a handyman that would make an a$$ out of himself.
Working on equipment in the field I definately know your frustration when it comes to not having the right tools, tools getting screwed up in the middle of nowhere, etc. Some days you just wish you'd never left home but in the end you know if you didn't you'd just set there and go crazy if you didn't have all the frustrating problems to overcome.

I had one today also. Took five hours to change a flat tire on wagon. 15 miles from home fully loaded fell off the jack couldn't get it back under the axle. Three trips home to get blocking, other tire, more jacks, shovel then the farmer I whose yard I was working in came home and helped out. Whew If not for him I'd still be there

I don't know if this is better or worse. Two and a half hours to fix two tires in my own yard. Guess thats how it is fixing junk. Take it apart fix it, put it together, rubber on valve stem rotten, take it apart and put in the new tube you tried to keep on the shelf the first time and so on.

I was there yesterday. I was going to repair a flat on my mowing tractor. I ripped the tube on the manual tire machine I use. I couldn't believe that happened, I then took apart the spare to patch it, and ruined that tube also. Had 1/2 hr. to go to the next town to buy a couple tubes before they closed, just made it. Of all the flats I have repaired over the past years I can't remember the last time I ruined a tube. Stan

There is an old saying, "if you think you got it bad" ! That is why I like this forum, Not only do I get to vent frustration, but know that others have problems too. lol Have a great day all! Bob

Had a whole week like that two weeks ago. On Monday,a water line that was WAY back in a crawl space under the kitchen since the 30s blew out. Had to take out the furnace ducts and dig out with a garden trowl to even get in there. Son and I worked 7 hours under there,kept breaking farther back until it was all the way under ground. Had it dug up the next morning and worked until 4pm to get water back. Cattle across the road didn't have water this whole time,I had to let them in another field to drink from the pond. Then on Thursday morning,somebody had run off the road and took out a bunch of fence along the east side of the pasture,turned and went out through the south fence and drove away. Took about 4 hours in intense heat to fix that. Went canoeing saturday to get away. Got home Sunday morning to a cow with a new calf and a dead twin hanging out of her. Worked an hour and a half in 90 degree heat. Calf had it's hind feet tucked up under it so it wouldn't come out. Finally got it pushed back in and pulled it with the tractor. So you guys with one bad day!!!,come on,you're amatures.

not to make light of your bad day i remember story about 2 farmers talking to each other.
first says that was some strom we had last night.
2nd one said yes it was a tree fell on the house, lighting struck my barn and it burned down, and my best cow was in the barn and got killed then to top it off my wife ran off with the hired man during the commotion. what a headache.
first farmer gee is that all? i wouldn't have time to think about that for at least a week.
a few weeks ago everything i did went wrong or broke. i went back in house and mrs 730 said why are you back so soon? i said i'm going to sit right here and watch tv as that way nothing will go wrong. yea right the electric went off so there we sat. i said to wife let's go to monroe for supper maybe that won't go wrong.

There is a price for junk"". That price still does not equal that directly out of your account for future junk.I will not say that buying new is incorrect but that this is temporary.There still will be need for pulling that rod around(which shoulda been balled and lubed and not tangle a tube) and be able to fix stuff.
This crap happens to the best and worse. The point is that it CAN happen and we prepare for it the best way or whatever way or it happens anyway.The devil cannot take away the experience. Unless he goads us to forsake our abilities he is beaten through the sweat and goes elswhere.
