Can some one guess what town in the USA had a tornado come thru on May 20, three years in a row on the same date and aboot the same time?

Without giving it away........

XXXXXX was a station and shipping point on the Union Pacific Railroad.

XXXXXX is notable for its exceptional tornado history. On May 20 in 1916, 1917, and 1918, it was hit by tornadoes. The 1918 tornado was the most destructive, and the town never fully recovered

Little town in NE Ok. guessing about 50 mi. from the NE corner of the state. I think one of them blew away down town. Would have to look up the name and that might be cheating.

On Moore, no way, but no way would I live in that town.

Good trivia question and I don't know the answer, but I can narrow it down a little bit. Union Pacific was not nearly as big then as now. I don't believe UP Operated in that many tornado prone states, Prior to mergers of the 1970s and later UP only operated in Nebraska, Kansas, Colorado, Wyoming, Utah, Idaho, California, Nevada, Oregon. I'm going to make a guess without further research and say Salina KS.

Well, I waited awhile and there were no other responses so I looked it up, Codell, KS was hit by tornado three years in a row, see accompanying link. I am a railfan and rail history buff prior to mergers with Misouri Pacific & KATY among others and the eventual ship merger of SP, Union Pacific only existed in a handful of states that were pretty much it's original territory. Thanks for the trivia question!

"YEP", you are right.
Do you watch, Trains and Locomotives Mondays on RFD tv?

Thanks to all that took part in question.

Happens all the time, since the tracks of tornados are not exactly precisely parallel. The tracks cross and re-cross as they go across a state, and every so often they cross at or over or near a town. Had one miss us on the other side of the fence, took out a subdivision, only removed a few metal panels off my barn.

Didn't see the question soon enough or I would have answered. My Mom was Codell HS class of 1950. I haven't been to Codell since 1988, really small town.
