Torque Value

Can anyone tell me the torque value for the nut that holds the hub on the end of the drive shaft for the injection pump? My manual says to use the "specified torque value" but I can't find it.

For the gear cap screws I was going to use some loctite (blue) instead of the wire. Does that sound like the thing to do? Is there a torque value for those cap screws?

Thanks for the help.

Somethings one remembers for a long time, torque on nut is 35 to 40 pound feet. I double checked. I would use soft wire and forget the Loctite.

Thanks! I appreciate the help Mr. Schwiebert. I am no mechanic but I try. So with that said, what is soft wire?

Thanks again.

Hey that makes 2 of us. I would use mechanics wire. Napa has a small spool available. They are 5/16 screws, around 20 pounds should be good. Do you have a standrd torque chart for different size and grades of common bolts? They are probably availabe on line.
