Tractor and baler

I have a John Deere 1070 (38 H.P. PTO)and am thinking about buying a New Holland 311 hayliner. I need to bale about 400 bales a year. Would the tractor have enough HP to run this baler?

Not familiar with the NH 311, but most any small square baler can be run with 38 PTO hp if you take it slow. Probably be OK if you drop them on the ground. You need more weight up front if you are going to pull a bale rack behind if you have any hills at all.

I have baled 1000s of bale with my Oliver 77 38HP with JD-14T and a NH271 so yes you should be just fine

Got a 1956 JD Model 50 pulling s Hesston 4500 with Hoelscher Accumalator.Baled 4000 bles this summer. The 50 workd when the accumalator dumpd 15 bales. Hydralic provide by unit running off of baler fly wheel. gitrib
